Judy Loeb Goldfein

Judy Loeb Goldfein represents EMILY’s List in the April 2008 episode of Future Choices, “Choosing with EMILY in ’08.”
She has served as a Director of EMILY’S List for the past 15 years. Motivated by the Thomas/Hill hearings, she joined the EMILY’s List staff after volunteering at the FOCUS event in New York, where 3500 people gathered to support the seven Democratic women running for the Senate in 1992.
Judy came to EMILY’S List after a successful career in fashion design. She was the founder and President of Sweet Mama Ltd., a manufacturer of fashion-forward maternity clothing, which she built into a major, national brand. Her “baby with the arrow” tee shirt led to significant changes in the maternity industry and shaped its course to the present day.
Judy recently finished a four year term as Chair of Women In Need, (a New York based non-profit organization which serves homeless and under-privileged families), having served on the board for the last 22 years. Under her guidance the agency has grown dramatically and now serves 7000 women and children annually with a budget of 32 million dollars.
An amateur photographer, Judy is now busily taking photos of her 5 grandchildren. She and her husband, Mort Goldfein, (an Emily’s List Majority Council member) live in Manhattan and have 3 sons, Jordan, Joshua and Jeremy.
