Lisa B. Winjum, J.D.
As Director of Public Policy and Advocacy for Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, Lisa Winjum oversees government relations and advocacy for the affiliate. She began her tenure at Planned Parenthood in March 2005.
Prior to joining the Planned Parenthood staff she was the Director of Public Policy and Communications at the Connecticut Sexual Assault Crisis Services, handling government relations, lobbying, and advocacy efforts.
Ms. Winjum received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Quinnipiac University Law School where she was an Associate Editor of the Law Review. She received the American Jurisprudence Award in Torts, The National Association of Women Lawyers Award, and law school honors for Distinguished Academic Achievement and Excellence in Clinical Work. She was admitted to practice in California in 1994 and in Connecticut in 1995.
Ms. Winjum graduated, with a Bachelors of Arts, from The College of New Rochelle in 1986. She received the college’s Ursula Laurus citation in 2006 and has served on the board of directors of The Castle Gallery since 2004. In 2007, she was named to the board of directors of the New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault.
Ms. Winjum joined "Future Choices" in December 2008 for "Pursuing Women’s Health and Rights
in the Obama Era."
